A puppy's first few grooming visits decide how they feel about it for the next fifteen years. The goal at this stage is not a perfect haircut — it is a puppy who thinks the van is a fine place to be.
We keep the first visit short and positive. Most puppies are ready once they have finished their core vaccinations; check the timing with your vet.
What the visit covers
- Gentle bath and a low-noise, hand-held dry
- Introduction to clippers and the sound of them, without a full haircut if that is too much
- Feet, ears, and face handled slowly so it stops being scary
- First nail trim
- Honest feedback on your puppy's coat type and how often it will need grooming

- How old should my puppy be?
- Most puppies start after their core vaccination series is complete, often around 12 to 16 weeks. Your vet's guidance comes first.
- What if my puppy will not sit still?
- That is normal and expected. We do what the puppy allows and build on it next time rather than forcing a finished haircut.
