Spring shedding season: getting ahead of the blow-out

As daylight stretches out in early spring, double-coated dogs release their winter undercoat all at once. Huskies, Shepherds, Goldens, Aussies, and most mixed breeds with a soft underlayer all go through it.

Why a bath and blow-out works better than brushing

A de-shedding bath loosens dead undercoat, and a high-velocity dryer pushes it out of the coat entirely. One appointment removes more hair than weeks of brushing at home — and the hair leaves in our van instead of settling on your floors.

Spring checklist

• Book a de-shedding bath and blow-out in March or early April.
• Start flea and tick prevention before the first warm week.
• Brush out mud-season tangles behind the ears and under the collar.
• Check ears after wet walks — moisture invites infection.

If your dog already has tight mats from a winter of skipped brushing, tell us when you book so we can allow extra time for dematting.
