Latchkey grooming — how it works
Latchkey grooming means we care for your pet while you're away — available to every client, cats and dogs alike. We meet you first — always
We don't set up latchkey service online. Your first appointment is a meet-and-greet combined with your first scheduled groom, with you at home, so we can meet you and your pet and you can meet us. We bring the latchkey authorization with us and complete it together at that visit — no paperwork to fill out ahead of time.
Step 1 — Meet & greet + first groom
Before any latchkey visit, your first appointment is a meet-and-greet combined with your first scheduled groom, with you at home. We get to know your pet, you meet us and see the van, and we complete the latchkey authorization together at that visit.
Step 2 — We complete the authorization together
At that first visit we go through the latchkey authorization with you in person and you sign it then. We'll answer questions as we go, and everything is documented in writing and kept confidential.
Step 3 — Latchkey visits from then on
Once your authorization is on file, simply book as usual and head out. We let ourselves in the way you arranged, groom your pet in the van, return them safely inside, secure your home, and text you when we're done.
What the authorization covers
So there are no surprises, here's what we'll go through together at your first visit:
- Your written permission for us to enter your home
- Your preferred access method — temporary door code, lock box, or another arrangement
- Alarm panel location and disarm instructions, if you have one
- An emergency contact we can reach while you're away
- Your veterinarian and clinic phone number (optional)
- Anything else you'd like us to know about your pet or home
We'll also provide a brief service agreement that requires only your signature. Your authorization stays on file until you revoke it in writing, and we never retain house keys.
